The Java Developer will operate as a member of a team that is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of software technologies and/or solutions from Saepio Technologies.

Required Skills

The Java Developer must be well versed in Java based web applications, with familiarity in all aspects of the JDK, J2EE technologies/concepts (Servlets, JSPs, Filters, etc), Struts, Hibernate, Apache Axis. Must have the ability to clearly articulate in oral and written format. Must be able to manage and coordinate the efforts of others. Must be able to document software solutions, and be familiar with reading and writing UML.

Desired Skills

In addition, experience with MySQL, Tomcat, CVS, Velocity templates, AJAX, and Spring are also a plus but not required– assuming the candidate can learn quickly. A degree in engineering, computer science or related fields is preferred but not required. SCJP is a plus. SCWCD is a big plus.

Experience Level

Two to three years.

The Java Developer will be responsible for the following:

• Design software that can be easily maintained and enhanced to meet changing requirements.
• Provide accurate time estimates for designed software solutions.
• Deliver well written description of solutions and estimates which comply with a standardized format.
• Provide accurate delivery schedules for approved work.
• Coordinate the development efforts of junior developers.
• Training/Mentoring of junior developers.
• Implement and maintain e-commerce software solutions in a logical and systematic method that acknowledges technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
• Ensure that each authored software component is adequately tested and complies with corporate software coding guidelines.
• Document software solutions provided using descriptive text and UML.
• Keep current in technology and methods for software development.
