Saepio Tackles Pesky Resizing Needs

(Kansas City, MO) – Ad resizing, whether for print or online, can be a frustrating and costly process. When publications demand different ad dimensions, corporate marketers have little choice but to engage their agency or internal staff to adjust the ads to fit. Multiply that across publications and markets and costs and time requirements add up quickly.

Customers of Saepio have been using resizing technology for several years, Dunklee notes. The technology draws on unique virtual cropping tools to ensure that the focal point of images is retained and on sophisticated software design to ensure that graphic standards are maintained. Designers can also create preset resizing options or can set minimum and maximum allowable resizing changes.

According to Dunklee, nearly every Saepio client utilizes resizing technology and nearly all report significant cost savings from this feature. “Newspaper ads are obviously one of the most commonly resized items,” Dunklee states. “However, we are also seeing an increasing use of resizing for web banner ads. The technology works the same no matter what medium is involved.”

A recent application of resizing technology at Saepio is for mobile advertising. This soon-to-be –released technology enables an ad to automatically resize to fit the dimensions of a mobile phone screen. “If you’ve ever stepped back and observed how many different mobile phone screen sizes there are, you can quickly understand the value of this application,” Dunklee observes.
